Katharina joined the greenwerk. in January 2026 as a Junior Advisor for Mitigation and Climate Finance, supporting the team’s work on climate impact assessment. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Integrated Climate System Sciences, providing her with a strong academic foundation in climate change science and its application in interdisciplinary policy and finance contexts. During her Bachelor’s studies, she developed solid expertise in environmental technologies and renewable energy systems; her Bachelor’s thesis, conducted in cooperation with the Hessian Agency for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology, was subsequently published in a technical journal.
Throughout her Master’s programme, Katharina specialised in the physical aspects of climate change and their relevance for climate policy, energy transitions, and adaptation and mitigation strategies, with a strong emphasis on linking scientific, societal, and political perspectives. Her Master’s thesis analysed extreme precipitation events in Hamburg using climate model data to assess potential climate change impacts. In academic working groups, she contributed to climate modelling, data analysis, and literature-based assessments of climate-related risks and processes. These experiences have equipped her with strong analytical skills and the ability to derive robust insights from complex data and interdisciplinary settings, which she now applies to support the greenwerk.’s mitigation and climate finance projects.
