Since August 2021, Jannik Landwehr is a Junior Advisor at the greenwerk. for international climate finance and climate policy with a focus on GCF-related consultation. Prior to his function as a Junior Advisor, Jannik was already part of the greenwerk. team in the framework of a 5-month internship, where he successfully demonstrated his robust understanding of climate finance and climate policy as well as his detailed insights on GCF processes. Since his engagement with the greenwerk., Jannik assisted several consultancies in the field of project development and evaluation, particularly in the area of sustainable energy and electric mobility. Moreover, he supported several GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support activities with his expertise.

Jannik has a strong academic background in the field of economics, in which he specialized in development economics, macroeconomic policy, and social policy in the context of the low-carbon transition of the economy. After completing his bachelor’s degree in socioeconomics in Hamburg, Jannik accomplished a dual master’s degree, both from the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the University Paris XIII. During his studies, he could acquire and demonstrate profound academic skills by publishing an academic paper and participating in conferences.

In his commencing career in consulting, Jannik can leverage work experience at the GCF Headquarter in Songdo, South Korea. For the Private Sector Facility of the Fund, he worked on the development of the business, market, and impact analysis for emerging innovative sustainable technologies, including supporting outreach activities and external communication. He also supported the evaluation of several concept notes and funding proposals regarding climate rationale, investment criteria, finance structure, and more.
